*SWIM TEAM MAY BE PRACTICING AT THE SAME TIME.
All group lessons require three participants to keep classes open. Classes may be added or deleted due to the demand. Private swim lessons for adults and children are offered upon availability. Small group and semi-privates are also available. Please inquire and register at the Member Services Desk. Payment is expected for private lessons that are cancelled without a 24-hour notice. Please bring all swim lesson receipts to every lesson.

Level Descriptions
*All levels include safety skills
IPAP (Infant and Preschool Aquatics Program, 1 - 5 years)
An adult in water must accompany all students
Skills taught: Entering and exiting the pool; Kicking on front and back; Arm movemement on front and back; Front and back floats; Treading water; Jumping
Level I (Water Exploration, 3 years and older)
This is a class designed for a non-swimmer. Parents are not allowed in the water with the child
Skills taught: Water entry and exit; Buoyancy and breath control with flotation; Swimming front and back with flotation
Level 2 (Primary Skills, 3 years and older)
Children may enter this class needing a floatation belt , but they must swim comfortably without it to move onto level 3)
Skills taught: Submerge and retrieve objects; Front and back floats and glides (unsupported); Combined stroke on front (alternating arm action); Combined stroke on back (arms and kick)
Level 3 (Stroke readiness, 3 years and older)
Children must be able to swim the length of the pool on their front as well as their back without flotation
Skills taught: Retrieve object from bottom of pool; Jump in deep water, perform sit dive; Front crawl with breathing, back crawl and elementary back stroke for 10 yards each
Level 4 (Stroke Development, 5 years and older)
Children must have a well-coordinated front crawl with breathing, back crawl elementary back stroke
Skills taught: Sculling on the back; Breastroke kick; Sidestroke kick; Turns at the wall
Level 5 (Stroke Refinement, 5 years and older)
Children must demonstrate all skills of level 4
Skills taught: Stride jump entry; Breaststroke, sidestroke and underwater swimming; Dolphin kick
Please note: For the benefit and safety of the swimmers, all parents are asked to view lessons from the benches provided in the hallway.
